About Star Engineeering
Star Engineering is a Malawi-based electrical engineering firm founded in 2019 and headquartered in Blantyre. We deliver specialist services in electrical consultancy, protection & control, substation and power line works, billing & energy metering, power quality, and inspection & compliance for utilities, EPC contractors, industrial plants, and commercial facilities across Malawi.
Our team combines deep technical expertise with hands-on field experience-supporting projects from concept and design through installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance. We work to IEC/IEEE standards, prioritizing safety, reliability, and measurable value on every engagement.

Company History
Star Engineering was founded in response to a clear gap in Malawi’s electrical power industry, particularly in the field of protection and control systems. Through experience working across utility, industrial, and commercial sectors, it became evident that many major factories and power facilities were forced to rely on protection specialists from outside the country, or on the few local experts who were already tied to full-time operational roles. This often resulted in prolonged equipment downtime, production delays, and increased operational costs as clients waited to be attended .
To address this challenge, Star Engineering was established to provide locally available, reliable, and high-standard power system protection services. The company was built to deliver comprehensive electrical engineering support – from consulting and system design to installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting – ensuring clients can access the expertise they need without delays.
Today, Star Engineering continues to serve utilities, EPC contractors, industrial operations, and commercial facilities by offering professional, timely, and technically sound electrical engineering solutions that support system reliability, operational efficiency, and industry growth in Malawi and beyond.
